About US

Constant change means that only the most agile companies survive. Performance Evaluation, Inc. has developed a unique method of testing AC/DC electric motors, cables and transformers. Known as "Time Domain Reflectometry" or TDR, this method is a non-invasive way to test the viability of electric motors to predict when they are likely to fail. There is no method available that can match the predictive power of this technology coupled with our extensive database. As you will see in the case studies found within, we have helped companies take control of their preventative maintenance programs, and in so doing, save thousands of dollars.

With our unique system, motors are exposed to a high energy pulse that creates a resonant circuit in the motor being evaluated. This allows the low impedance circuit within the motor to become part of
a high frequency resonant circuit. The resonant energy allows the test to analyze the motor's turn-to-turn insulation over the complete resonant cycle. Deficiencies in the motor's insulation deform the signal characteristics of the pulsed energy and impart a unique "signature" to each motor. It is important to realize that minor insulation deficiencies are present in most functional motors. It is only when these deficiencies worsen to the point of breakdown that a motor fails. All tested motors have their signatures analyzed and their abnormalities quantified. By comparing your motor's "signature" to the 52,000+ in our database, a prediction of time to failure can be rendered.
