A major water company has been using TDR testing for the past 7 years. By placing a high frequency pulse into the motor windings, reactive faults can be detected along with the integrity of the motor impedance. If the impedance changes or if there are heightened reactive faults, the motor is taken out and steam cleaned, baked, dipped in varnish and rebaked.
